Kevin Sorbo was the persona taken on by Hercules in the 20th century.

When his brother Ares caused an earthquake in Los Angeles, Sorbo had to abandon production of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys for a day to rescue all the trapped citizens of the city. In his absence, the staff of the show and their boss B.S. Hollinsfoffer met to discuss alternative casting and story ideas. Luckily, Sorbo was able to save everyone and make it back to the studio by the end of the day thus foiling Ares' plans to have the show canceled (HTLJ "Yes, Virginia, There is a Hercules").

After getting Ares out of his car, Kevin Sorbo later takes part in B.S. Hollinsfoffer and the staff members' retreat at Camp WannaChuck in order to encourage cooperation. He soon stumbles upon a plot that threatens the staff members of the show. When it was discovered that the counselor Sunny Day was behind the attempts on the staff members' lives as they end up herded into the nearby cave. With help from Norma Bates, Kevin Sorbo thwarted Sunny's plot and unmasks her to be B.S. Hollinsfoffer. Ares then appears and says a few words where it was mentioned that Hollinsfoffer was offered his own studio by Ares. Ares ends his statements by telling Hollinsfoffer that he will never work in that town again (just because he's always wanted to say that). After Ares leaves, the staff members are shocked that Ares exists and think that Hercules might be real too. All eyes turn to Kevin, but he quickly denies saying he's "just an actor." Kevin then looks at the camera and raises his eyebrows. (HTLJ "For Those of You Just Joining Us").
