Solaris was a character on Xena: Warrior Princess. It was the fish that Xena and Lyceus were constantly trying to catch as children, but always failed.
When Aphrodite stole the Mystic Diamond (North Star) from the Temple of the Heavens, Xena, Gabrielle and Joxer tried to figure out ways to put it back in it's rightful place. When they all became obsessed with different objects (Xena with fishing, Gabrielle with vanity and Joxer with a story about apes), Xena's obsession with fishing was the key to getting the North Star back into the sky. She managed to use the Diamond as bait and catapulted Solaris and the Diamond into the skies.
